Mathematica, the think tank that carried out this research, is characterized by a generally pro-corporate model reform agenda in most of its research.  Both the KIPP Foundation and the Walton Family foundation are clients of this think-tank.   This suggests the possibility of a conflict of interests that jeopardizes the objectivity of the study.  We would do well to await review by academic researchers without sponsored research agendas.

On Monday, March 25, José Gonzalez, a teacher in the Tucson Unified School District, and Alanna Castro, a student leader in Tucson, will join us for a screening of Precious Knowledge: A Documentary on Revolutionary Education. Both José and Alanna are featured in the documentary, and a moderated discussion will immediately follow the screening.
